1. Introduction

Welcome to KyotoMobile. These Terms of Service govern your use of our website and our Japan-only prepaid eSIM mobile data services powered by the high-speed KDDI network. By accessing our platform, purchasing our Japan eSIM plans, or utilizing our network connectivity, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

If you do not agree with any part of these Terms, please refrain from using our services. Our digital SIM Japan solutions are intended strictly for travelers and visitors to Japan.

2. Eligibility & Account Responsibilities

To purchase a prepaid Japan eSIM from KyotoMobile, you must be at least 18 years of age or possess legal parental consent. When creating an order, you agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information.

  • You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your access links and QR codes.
  • You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your eSIM order.
  • We reserve the right to refuse service or cancel orders in cases of suspected fraud or account misuse.

3. Japan eSIM Services

KyotoMobile provides digital travel eSIM Japan profiles that grant access to prepaid mobile data plans operating on the reliable KDDI network infrastructure. Upon successful purchase, delivery is instant and completely digital.

Please note that our Japan data plans are subject to the following conditions:

  • Coverage: Valid strictly within the borders of Japan.
  • Device Requirements: Requires a carrier-unlocked, eSIM-compatible smartphone.
  • Performance: While the KDDI network offers high-speed Japan internet, actual connectivity speeds and availability may vary based on your physical location in Japan, local network congestion, and specific device capabilities. KyotoMobile does not guarantee uninterrupted service in all areas.

4. Orders & Payments

All purchases made through the KyotoMobile website are processed securely. By confirming an order for a Japan tourist SIM alternative, you authorize us to charge the provided payment method.

  • Prices are transparently displayed before checkout. Any applicable taxes will be calculated and displayed during the transaction.
  • We employ robust fraud prevention systems. Orders flagged as high-risk may be delayed or cancelled.
  • In the event of a failed payment authorization, your eSIM profile will not be generated.

5. Delivery of eSIM

Delivery of your Japan eSIM is entirely digital. Instantly following a successful transaction, you will receive an email containing a secure link to your personalized order page.

  • This page contains your unique QR code for seamless automatic installation and the SM-DP+ details for manual configuration.
  • Comprehensive activation instructions for both iOS and Android devices are included.
  • If you experience a rare processing delay, please check your spam folder or contact our support team.

6. Activation & Usage Policies

Our eSIM for Japan travel is designed for personal, fair usage. To maintain network integrity across the KDDI network, strict policies apply:

  • One-Time Use: A QR code can only be scanned and installed once. Do not delete your eSIM profile if you encounter network issues, as it cannot be restored.
  • Validity Period: Your plan's active duration begins the moment the eSIM connects to the supported network in Japan, or as otherwise specified during checkout.
  • Fair Usage Policy: To ensure reliable Japan mobile data for all users, extremely high bandwidth usage or tethering abuse may result in temporary speed throttling by the local carrier.
  • Prohibited Activities: Any illegal activities, spamming, or deliberate network interference will result in immediate termination without refund.

7. Refund & Cancellation Policy

We strive for complete customer satisfaction with our premium eSIM connectivity. However, due to the digital nature of our product, refunds are subject to specific limitations:

  • Unused eSIMs: If you have not scanned the QR code or consumed any data, you may request a refund within 30 days of purchase.
  • Activated eSIMs: Once an eSIM is installed or activated on the KDDI network, we cannot offer a refund unless there is a verifiable, prolonged technical failure on our end that prevents connectivity.
  • Device Incompatibility: Refunds are generally not provided for accidental purchases made for devices that are locked or lack eSIM capabilities. Please verify compatibility prior to ordering.
  • Fraudulent Chargebacks: Unwarranted payment disputes will result in permanent suspension from our services.

8. Supported Devices

It is entirely the customer's responsibility to ensure their mobile device is unlocked and officially supports eSIM technology before purchasing a Japan data plan.

Not all smartphones, especially older models or variants purchased from specific regional carriers, are eSIM equipped. Please consult our dedicated Supported Devices page or your device manufacturer's specifications before checkout.

9. Network Availability Disclaimer

KyotoMobile utilizes the premium KDDI network infrastructure to deliver high-quality coverage. However, mobile data services inherently depend on radio transmissions.

  • Signal strength and data speeds may fluctuate depending on topography, building structures, and atmospheric conditions.
  • Underground transit systems, remote rural areas, or densely crowded tourist zones may experience reduced availability.
  • We do not guarantee 100% continuous, error-free connectivity and are not liable for temporary service outages beyond our control.

10. Intellectual Property

All content on the KyotoMobile platform - including branding, logos, website design, text, graphics, and underlying software - is the exclusive property of KyotoMobile. Unauthorized reproduction, distribution, or commercial exploitation of these assets is strictly prohibited.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, KyotoMobile shall not be held liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from the use of our services.

This includes, but is not limited to, losses resulting from travel disruptions, missed communications, reliance on map routing, third-party carrier outages, or improper user configuration. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for the specific eSIM product in question.

12. Privacy & Data Protection

Your privacy is fundamentally important to us. KyotoMobile collects and processes your personal information, payment details, and technical usage data strictly in accordance with our Privacy Policy. We deploy robust security measures to protect your information and only share necessary data with trusted partners to facilitate network connectivity and support communications.

13. Suspension & Termination

We reserve the right to immediately suspend or terminate your access to our Japan eSIM services without prior notice if we reasonably suspect a violation of these Terms. Grounds for termination include fraudulent transactions, deliberate network abuse, involvement in illegal activities, or repeated chargeback manipulation.

14. Service Changes & Updates

KyotoMobile operates in a dynamic telecommunications environment. We reserve the right to modify our pricing structures, adjust data plan features, or update our network configurations at any time. Furthermore, we may revise these Terms of Service periodically. Continued use of our website or services following any updates constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

15. Governing Law

These Terms of Service, and any disputes arising directly or indirectly from your use of KyotoMobile services, shall be governed by and construed in accordance with internationally recognized commercial law, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any legal proceedings shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts in our registered business locale.
